Astrology Hot Zones in May 2005 - The Grand Irrationality is back, along with a Saturn Yod, affecting everyone in a big way
by Robert Wilkinson
In May, the Grand Irrationality is triggered by Sun, Mercury, and Venus transiting the late Taurus and early Gemini points in this seven-pointed star that is key to the larger craziness the whole world is moving through. Though the link is from last Autumn, it offers valuable info about what this configuration is about, and which areas are active hot zones. Actually, they've moved about 4 to 6 degrees past the points in the Autumn article, but will be back within that range this coming July-October, so that article is basically a heads-up for what's coming a few weeks down the road for the generations named there. For now, if you were born slightly after the years given for the Pluto and Uranus generational hot zones in that article, then it's happening to you in May!
These multiple septile series aspects will be with us for another dozen years thanx to the Neptune-Pluto septile anchoring the energies, so it's a very good thing to stay alert to the times when this non-rational, "destiny-producing" configuration is most active. In their lower form, these septile series aspects indicate the obsessive-compulsive forces evident in our lives on all levels. Regarding our higher "destiny," these aspects show where we have hit a "fork in the road," and must make choices that will determine future possiblities. Much will not make sense during these periods, but it doesn't have to. Open to the non-rational forms of knowing, be alert to obsessive thinking or compulsive behaviors in your world, and try not to get unnerved by the general "Marx Brothers" or "Twilight Zone" qualities to things that occur during these times. Cooperate in pioneering group endeavors, and don't worry if it's all very strange in the forseeable future.
In May, these points are triggered often, showing we'll all be dealing with this fantastic (and bizarre) weirdness during the Venus triseptile Pluto May 6-8 and biseptile Neptune May 8-10, the Sun triseptile Pluto May 16-18 and biseptile Neptune May 18--21, with Mercury finishing up its part of the weirdness with Pluto May 25-26 and Neptune May 27-28. The points where the Moon will focus the pattern acutely will be May 4 (8-9 Aries), May 8 (30 Taurus-1 Gemini), May 12 (21-22 Cancer), May 16 (8-9 Virgo), May 20 (2-3 Scorpio), May 24 (24-25 Sag), and May 27-28 (16-18 Aquarius). Generally speaking, these fall a day later for readers in the UK, Europe, Asia and Australia (and everybody else east of Greenwich, for that matter!), so thank you for compensating for my California-centric time references.
Anyone with planets in these spans will be directly affected during these particular hot zones, so stay alert to opportunities to further your destiny and get clear about what you should do and what you shouldn't. Try not to get stressed that reason, rationality, and making sense of things is difficult or impossible when these aspects dominate. It definitely is placing many at a fork in the road concerning values, resources, finances, or how to use what we have to achieve an ease and satisfaction in our lives. The Saturn in Cancer part of the configuration in February through April forced choices regarding habits, needs and securing supply. In May we get to see what it will take to substantiate and confirm what we need to draw on to satisfy those needs.
Most affected are people born near the following spans, since it directly affects their Sun - the last few days of March, May 17-22, July 13-18, the last few days of August and first few days of September, October 22-26, and December 13-17. Remember that we all are affected strongly, as most have a planet somewhere in the sign zones directly affecting those areas of our lives. The Summer Solstice June 20-21, 2005 will be very interesting, since Mercury and Venus will occupy the Cancer points, Mars occupies the Aries point, and the Moon transits the Sag point. Also occurring is a Full Moon at the Solstice point, setting the critical axis of 1 Cancer-Capricorn into motion. Expect powerful times and powerful decisions to be made that will affect your life for some time to come! I'll go more into that in a few weeks.
The other major configuration of note in May is that Saturn returns to its quincunx to Pluto, forcing hard adjustments and setting up potential Yod configurations, or the "Finger of God," for anyone with planets near 24 Aquarius or Taurus. This will last the entire month, with a special emphasis on May 1st, when the Moon in Aquarius sets up the Yod focusing energy toward the Saturn, and May 7th, when the Moon in Taurus refocuses the energy pattern toward Pluto in Sagittarius. We will be able to utilize old emotions transmuted by intelligence, be forced to exercise a definite form of self-control, learn genuine dispassion, and be given command over energies, even if we may have to defend our mission and defend ourselves with honor in the adjustments required during the entire month. Here's a link to a previous column on this specific quincunx and its effects, which in itself is a gateway with links tracing what we've been going through these past seven months. Sort of a compilation to many different windows.
