The Final Saturn Quincunx Pluto - Expansion Through Sacrifice Time For All Signs

It's never a great time to make what I call "hard adjustments," but occasionally they occur as part of the larger plan of evolution. As readers of this column know from prior posts, we've all been dealing with Saturn quincunx Pluto off and on for the past 10 months, forcing major sacrifices and adjustments in the areas of our charts where this quincunx falls. It's why we've been forced into some occasionally difficult changes by forces beyond our control.

The first time we dealt with this difficult aspect was July through early August 2004. Saturn was 20 Cancer, Pluto was 20 Sagittarius. The second time was in January 2005, when Saturn was retrograde at 24 Cancer and Pluto was 24 Sagittarius. Now in May, Saturn is now making the final quincunx, again from 24 Cancer to Sagittarius. This particular challenge yielded productivity at gave us all a chance to see which way the wind was blowing along with signs from Spirit last summer, and begin to adjust the Cancer and Sagittarius areas of our lives.

The 2005 quincunxes have offered productivity in two areas: 1) defending our sense of mission, or seeing the broader context of our mission in life, and 2) we've found opportunities to practice techniques of compassionate teaching and self control yielding genuine dispassion. Especially now in May 2005, we can apply ourselves best by accepting authority in our world to bring forth forms of excellence by exercising our own and others' genius. Take command of your life through an appropriate self-discipline, and remember to be humane. Be more generous in your outlook, share a higher vision with others, and you could experience a serenity and genuine peace arising from a deep inner understanding.

Since we're now in the immediate hot zone for the next three weeks, I'll offer some insights into how each sign can best deal with these rather difficult energies.

Aries (except those born between April 15-19) - You're changing at the root of your being, expanding resources and friendships. Go for productive idealism. Your home and family are expanding through sacrifice, as is your sense of truth or your future. For mid-April Aries, change your thinking or way of communicating. You can still attract what you need; are you frustrated because you can't get what you want? Keep it simple, stabilize, and depersonalize. Project public friendliness and let your heart shine naturally.

Taurus (except those born between May 15-20) - You're becoming more sensitive to your environment, which may be disturbing your comfort. Your desires are revolutionizing your future, and you're growing in personal worth and public standing. Give communications time. For mid-May Taurus, change your way of relating to money and assets, since your relationships are undergoing radical change. Purify to greet future possibilities of deeper interactions. See a larger truth. Your sacrifices will lead to gain.

Gemini (except those born between June 15-21) - Stop clutching at money and what you think you have, since your own insecurity is feeding your sense of loss. You have recently met someone very unusual who is catalyzing you to focus and become more efficient in how you relate to others. You can learn a deeper calm and an integrated higher truth from this experience. For mid-June Gemini, give up an old touchiness or defensiveness, see the seeds of work and health issues, and work toward securing simple goals.

Cancer (except those born between July 17-22) - You're learning hard lessons in relationships. Hold back a little, adjust your expectations, and allow the interactions to mature. Be efficient in opening a new work future. Target attainable goals and ambitions, and see the bigger picture re: past and present losses. For mid-July Cancer, you're about to receive new responsibilities or duties, so promote efficiency and simplicity. Make your partner your friend, and don't take things so personally. Show largeness of vision.

Leo (except those born between August 17-22) - You're having to change your motives and sacrifice any self-destructive habits to prepare for what's coming. Your children and creativity are undergoing radical change. Growth in all relationships, as well as public standing or professional status. For mid-August Leo, you're becoming sensitive to new goals and ambitions, as well as new new truths much simpler than the old ones. Be a self-starting pioneer. Sacrifice defensiveness and don't get crabby in public. Purify memories of the past.

Virgo (except those born between September 16-22) - You're gathering new friends and sacrificing old ones, and your home is in some kind of upheaval. You can make progress in securing a more stable future, a simpler view of truth, and a detached way of regarding your children. Practice projecting spontaneous friendliness. For mid-September Virgo, don't be crabby professionally, and focus your attention on larger things. Simplify your desires, and detach more to play better. Be a compassionate juggler.

Libra (except those born between October 17-22) - You're showing a sensitive side that others may not have seen before. Your words now carry more power. Stay focused, don't get too scattered in your thinking, and consolidate. Growth through children, art, play, and being direct in your requests. For mid-October Libra, you're preparing for professional recognition or promotion, so give up old values and things you can't take with you. Grow through gentle interactions, friends in the home. See the larger context of old memories.

Scorpio (except those born between November 16-21) - You're sacrificing old truths, hopes, core values or ways of wasting resource. Growth through simpler, more straightforward stable relationships and having friends in your home or being friendly toward family members. Detach from your past. For mid-November Scorpio, you're seeing the difference between wants and needs after a period of losses. The seeds of your future are sprouting. Growth in health and work disciplines, as well as integrative thinking and communicating.

Sagittarius (except those born between December 15-21) - Forces beyond your control are purifying you of everything unnecessary to your future. Sacrifice old sentimental values, desires, repressions, defensiveness. Growth in vision, understanding, health, work. For mid-December Sagittarius, grow in sensitivity in your relationships, take responsibility, get an integrated overview of your money and asset issues, and find an enduring means of self-expression. Money or values grow through children and art.

Capricorn (except those born between January 15-19) - Your relationships are changing, so be sensitive to their needs and habits, and adjust accordingly. You're protected, and with vision can grow in creativity, persistence in gentle play, and detaching from money issues. For mid-January Capricorn), change your health habits, your friends, or your goals and ambitions. Growth in stabilizing your home and family, as well as detaching from trying to overcontrol things. Get a bigger picture of who you are.

Aquarius (except those born between February 13-18) - Give up unhealthy habits and friendships. Your work is going through changes affecting your lifestyle. Growth comes through seeing the angel you already are, and providing more pleasure to self and others in the home. Be the stabilizing force in your family. For mid-February Aquarius, stop being so tenative in your self-expression, and get focused professionally. You do well by detaching from old motives and sorrows, and keeping communications simple.

Pisces (except those born between March 15-20) - You're sacrificing an old sentimentality re: children or art, and seeing the seeds of change in your public or professional standing. Growth through gentle communications, stabilizing your environment, and seeing the bigger picture of past karmas. For mid-March Pisces, simplify your values and resources, and see the broader context of your public persona. Let go of old memories, old truths and old ways of seeing your future. Be more structured in your play or art.
