Astrology Hot Zones for June 2005 - Mars influencing Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces

by Robert Wilkinson

Mars is the "tripwire" for activity in our charts. During June 2005, it moves through the end of Pisces and the first half of Aries. People going through dynamic activity, a hectic fast-paced period, or those having the hardest time the first ten days of the month are Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarians born in the third week of March, June, September, and December. After June 11 when Mars enter Aries, this applies to late March Aries, late June Cancers, late September Libras, and late December Capricorns. The last few days of the month will trigger this affect in Aries, Cancers, Libras, and Capricorns born at the beginning of their months.

People with birthdays during these periods need to focus on what constitutes responsible action, given the high energy of this period. Mars tests us to get our energetics together, and shows us how we achieve self-control or not. It is our "fight or flight" principle, as well as a symbol for that which aggravates us, or a time to beware of hasty action, argumentativeness, or impulsiveness. Those born the last half of March, June, September, and December will be most influenced most of June, whereas those born in early January, April, July, and October will be most influenced during the last week of June.

Mid-December Sagittarians are seeing the first emergence of something begun around late January or early February 2005. After June 11, late December Capricorns will see the first emergence of something begun the second or third week of February 2005. Both these groups should see the new life direction or new way of naturally expressing themselves. Get grounded, and remember that "as the roots, so the flowers." Effort now is critical to future success.

Sagittarians need to be discerning about what is more important and what is less, what is the place and function of the differences you're observing, be practical in adjusting to new ideas and ways of understanding and communicating. Adapt, discover, interact, serve, refine, and take care of details. Volitility the first week of June, so don't let things go to extremes. Beginning mid-June, December Capricorns should be balanced, reasonable, sensitive, caring, nurturing, and understand that there are many ways to view anything. Find a new rhythm, and don't let impulsiveness lead you to do or say things you'll regret later. The same is true for early January Capricorns the last few days of June.

Mid-March Pisceans are seeing the end of a 2-year cycle and the beginning of a new one during the first 11 days of June. March Aries will see this beginning June 11, 2005. Slow down, finish up what you’ve been doing these past two years, and refuse to get hassled or pushed beyond your limits. This is a period of endings and beginnings. Pisces should focus on how your values, truths, ways of viewing resource, work, or health have changed since this cycle began in December 2003. You're closing out an old truth or philosophy, and getting a new way to express your genius or uniqueness being brought forth by Uranus in your sign.

March Aries should focus on how self-image, personal magnetism, self-expression, ways of viewing loss and gain, decay and regeneration, and how they've needed to play have changed or fulfilled themselves during the past 18 months. Early April Aries started this cycle in early January 2004, and have the same focus as March Aries. In the first half of June, end what needs to end, examine your motives, and diminish impulsive or stubborn behaviors that create sorrow. Face the future, work with vision, and capture what you need to support your next two year cycle.

Mid-June Geminis are seeing the culmination of something they began in late April or early May 2004. After June 11, Cancers born in June are culminating that which began May 2004. Slow down, consolidate, and follow through in what's coming to fruition. Claim your personal power and further the momentum while not being impulsive or aggravated as you accept higher recognition. It is the fulfillment and culmination of an old cycle, so begin to capture the fruits of past labors, and complete whatever you need to in preparation for the new cycle that begins in April 2006.

Geminis need to show discrimination, order, practicality, pay attention to details and get a larger vision, a greater truth or generosity, and be more optimistic about the future. A sense of humor will dispel worries and criticisms. This is the fulfillment of an old work situation, as well as a change in direction relative to your friends and goals. This month fulfills an ambition, group activity, or vision of larger service and a marks a shift in your health, whether physical, emotional, or mental.

After June 11, Cancers born in late June need to try something new, and be more assertive and direct while being fair, diplomatic, reasonable, just, and well-rounded. Take responsbility and be organized, since you could see new developments regarding professional or public recognition. Avoid getting publicly aggravated. Late June brings this to Cancers born in early July. This month fulfills a professional cycle, and is a shift in your creativity, play, or how you relate to children.

Mid September Virgos should avoid aggression, impulsiveness, or getting aggravated by oppositional people during the first 10 days of June while correcting whatever they need to within the cycle that began late September 2004. Late September Libras began this cycle in late September or early October 2004, and will go through this critical mid-course correction after June 11. Bring different things to surface, or correct what you need to while avoiding adversarial interactions.

Virgos should try to see a larger truth or a bigger vision, open to seeing things from many different points of view, and if you can't see the order to things, fit it into a larger point of view. Get a sense of humor and the infinite abundance of the universe. Virgos will deal with shifts or things surfacing in the areas of sibling relations, immediate environment, communications and interpretations, ways of dealing with loss and regeneration, and magnetism.

September Libras should try to see ways to take the initiative in relationships, or quickly grab an opportunity that presents itself. If you're having money problems, it's probably due to someone opposing your values or desiring that which cannot be fulfilled in the way they want. This will be most evident from June 11 on, and will strongly influence early October Libras the last few days of June. All Libras should show sensitivity and maturity, taking care of needs and duties while not indulging sentimental or excessively rigid bahavior in others.

Because we're dealing with Mars, it of course affects the areas of your chart influenced by Aries and Scorpio, so take note. It also affects planets you may have in these signs, as well as any planets listed in the signs above. Don't forget to include your progressions and solar return planets.

The quincunx effect significantly influences 23-30 degrees of Leo and Libra the first 11 days of the month, while 1-13 Virgo and Scorpio planets will be more affected from June 12-30. Quincunxes always indicate a health issue on some level (not necessarily physical!), and require an adjustment through sacrifice, this being narrowly focused according to birthday. Mid-August Leos and mid-October Libras will be most affected by the quincunx the first 10 days of June, whereas late August Virgos and late October Scorpios will be most affected after June 11.

Aquarians born the last week of January and the first week of February, and Taurus born the last week of April and first week of May will be most influenced by the semisquare the first 11 days of June. Aquarians born the second and third weeks of February, and Taurus people born the second and third weeks of May will be most influenced by the semisquare after June 12. There may be internal crises of direction, or the sense that something is beginning to open (or close) and decisions must be made.

Mars starts the month square Pluto, always a volatile time. Show restraint, stay innocent and discerning, find different ways to achieve progress despite the binding conditions, and build your future. It's trine to Saturn during early June should help us to shed old skins, focus, regenerate, and is a challenge to use our emotional intelligence to achieve a form of self-transcendence. The second week of June Mars is squared by Mercury, which helps us to achieve quick closures; be practical, see the abundance, and visualize carefully what you want to see made manifest during the next two years. There are blessings to be received, and some will receive "an emergency call" which will free them from old routine duties and a "narrow destiny."

Meditation and forgiveness practices are very powerful during the second week of June, since there's a Sun opposed Pluto going on at the same time. Self-discipline and deep insights with a powerful efficient self-confidence are the best manifestations of this opposition. Expect things to take off dramatically when Mars enters Aries on June 11, June 12 (east of Atlantic daylight time). Just don't get hooked by conflicts that are not your problem, or indulge in extravagance or excessive behaviors, when Mars opposes Jupiter from June 18 through the end of the month.
