Astrology Storm Zones in August 2005 - Venus square Pluto and Mercury square Mars affecting all signs

Today's title says it all. The Venus square Pluto culminates tomorrow, August 10, from 22 Virgo to 22 Sagittarius, affecting those signs as well as any planets near 22 Gemini and Pisces. Usually there's a strong affect on any planet within 5 degrees of the exact degree, with the strongest affect on 21, 22, and 23 degrees of those signs. This is accompanied in short order by the second Mercury square Mars from 10 degrees Leo to 10 degrees Taurus on August 13. This will powerfully affect those signs, as well as Scorpio and Aquarius planets falling within a few degrees either way of 10. We can prepare for this radical aspect on August 11, when the Moon in Scorpio will create a T-square throwing energies, both deconstructive and reconstructive, into 9 and 10 degrees of Aquarius. What does all this mean for you?

First of all, the immanent Venus square Pluto shows that all Taurus and Libra energies in our lives have reached a culmination relative to the Aries and Scorpio transpersonal elements of our life. Many will turn corners in relationships, with the tendency to be separative, probably not a bad idea, since this aspect usually shows people's craziness or extremism. If you find yourself with someone who is deflecting your efforts, or getting you out on a tangent, or frustrating your ability to capture what you want, it's probably time to say goodbye, or at least re-write the contract. It is very difficult dealing with crazy or extreme people, so cultivate diplomacy and firmness as you use the details and practical necessities to get a larger point of view, or a greater sense of freedom. Adjustment toward a greater autonomy is a good thing to do when stuck in conflict with people who are corrosive, or dishonest, or just out of control.

See how a larger transformative process has fulfilled itself, try to keep an open mind when discussing points of view, and find ways to close some things down without anger, frustration, or explosiveness. Follow the warmth in human relations, find normal kinds of fulfillment through harmonious interactions, and bring a new "law" of living down to manifestation. Hold yourself to highest standards, and you will find success in meeting the demands of a new order, or way of life. This will most powerfully affect those born around the middle of March, June, September, and December, and those with planets or an Ascendant around 21-23 degrees of the Mutable signs.

The Mercury square Mars on the other hand is the second of three, and each of these requires a degree of caution, patience, and being alert to impulsiveness or argumentativeness. Tempers are somewhat high under this aspect, with belligerence and scattered communications creating more annoyance than usual. The best we can do is to evaluate things from a very practical standpoint, and not be led into quick decisions that will only create hassles. This aspect requires that we find an adequate motive to give a more profitable direction to our initiatives. Let go of wishful thinking, daydreaming that goes nowhere, and superficial involvements. Recognize how to develop that which is potential into actuality.

The first square occurred on June 10 from Mercury at 30 Gemini to Mars at 30 Pisces, thus indicating a threshold to be followed by radically new beginnings based on higher standards of value. Energies released then will bear fruit for many months to come, and many were freed from old routines by blessings to move into new futures. The coming square on August 13 shows Mercury retrograde, and so we'll be revisiting some things, finding transfiguration through a greater consecration than we've suspected before now. Withdraw from others' projections on you, and reevaluate some things by seeing how the reality is falling short of the ideal even as you rise above the "vicissitudes of passing fortune." Many will find a sense of connectedness within a group, and find others who are part of a "fraternity" of larger ideals.

This entire period is dominated by this aspect, since Mercury is going stationary direct on Monday August 22, and will square Mars again for the third time on August 25 from 15 Leo to 15 Taurus. This last square will also involve Neptune in a powerful T-square, throwing lots of power into 15 and 16 Scorpio. I'll discuss more about this in a few days. The square on the 13th will most strongly affect those born at the beginning of February, May, August, and November, while the coming T-square will most powerfully affect those born the second weeks of those months. Following an earlier theme, the retrograde square on the 13th will exert a powerful influence on planets or an Ascendant around 9-11 degrees of the Fixed signs, and the third square will influence planets or an Ascendant between 14-16 degrees of the Fixed signs.

We're all profoundly influenced by these squares in whatever houses or sectors we have Aries, Gemini, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Pisces. This is a waxing, or lower square, indicating new emergences in the Gemini-Virgo areas relative to the Aries-Scorpio sectors of our lives. And we'll all need to purify, let go, regenerate, go deeper, and check out our magnetism so that it's bringing us what we need, releasing old desires no longer appropriate to who we are or what we must do.
