A Dream by Bob Rich

Walking through my mind I came upon a man that rather looked just like me. He had the same expressions and sparkle in his eyes that I believe I have. There was a sort of mist around him and the air was filled with anticipation. I felt an energy run through me as I approached him.

Oh my God, who can this person possibly be? He felt as though he was I. I felt as though I was in my favorite shirt and jeans, old boat shoes on a fine summer day as I looked into his eyes. In the reflection I saw all the joy that I ever felt along with deep sadness for all the days that had gone by. The thing that astonished me was the familiar scent that filled the air. I had never been here before, that I knew. Who was this strange wonderful and familiar person whose eyes met my as though we both had been tossed over heaven and had looked into the eyes of God.

He smiled and held out his hand. I am all of your hopes and dreams. I am also all of your nightmares. Join me and we will walk though all that has ever passed under the sun. We will pass through regions of dreams and float over cities that have filled your days with wonder. We will ride on the wings of angels and see deep wisdom that will guide the centuries. On the pure light of the heart we will float through the passion of thoughts of children. In the end though there is only us, we will have know all that there is in the multitudes of many races. Smile and feel the strength that spoke many universes into being. You have smiled on the face of I am.

With that he turned and disappeared from my site. I knew that I had just seen the most incredible person that I would ever meet. I had met the essence of who I was and would ever be. I smiled as a tear ran down my cheek.

The sun was just beginning to rise through the trees waking the world that surrounded me. I saw the animals of the wood rising from their nests. The sun warmed the mist of the morning rising from the cool earth. I felt as though anything was possible and maybe even probable. Oh what a wonderful world.

Since the moment I saw him I knew that nothing would ever be the same. I was a new human being. There was no goal out of reach there were no fences to high for me to get over. The world and all that it contained were now within my grasp. In that moment it was as though all knowledge had passed to me. I could invent my own reality. It was actually beyond that. I knew that the patterns that swept across my mind could be shared and passed on to others whose patterns where similar to mine. Oh what a wonderful new world I had walked into today.

I knew now that it was more than a dream that I could take the darkness from the world. I had been given the key to the universe. I felt such love for every being for every inch of this wonderful planet. It was as though I could embrace all of existence. Either the universe had become smaller or I had expanded to fill the universe. I knew that this day was to be the most incredible day for the rest of my life. I saw music and color in every thought.

The world was more alive than I had ever seen it.

People will always argue that they are what you see and that they are hiding nothing. When they take their masks off the real them will always come shining through. Who are you?

Castles made of sand sink slowly into the sea. Our lives are full of window and doorways which create the tapestry we call life. The path we choose is always unique to the one that travels it.
