The Wall’s escort is close at hand. Folks from Cheyenne (Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 849) will greet the Wall at the Colorado Wyoming border (Flying J) and continue travel up I25. The expected time of arrival at Little America is around 11:00 am on May 26. Some of the Cheyenne group will be traveling all the way to Worland and some will pass off the job of the escort at the Platt County line to the good folks of Wheatland. At the Platt County Line Wheatland’s Lucky 13 Motor Cycle Club will take over the escort job. They will travel the entire Platt County portion of this trip. At the top of Platt County they will graciously pass the baton to Glenrock. (Some folks from Wheatland will be able to escort the entire trip.) Glenrock Wall escort participants, Motor Cycle Clubs, Veterans and Classic Car Groups, will travel I25 to just outside Wheatland where they will be met by the Wheatland Fire Department. Wheatland will host the traveling group for lunch with a BBQ Picnic and give the travelers a mid day break. (Approximate arrival time is estimated to be 1:30 p.m.) After a short rest its back on the road taking the entourage up I25 to Casper where it will be met by K2 and KCWY and a host of Casper folks for the ride through Casper. After traveling through Casper folks from Worland, Shoshoni, Thermopolis, Riverton and Lander will be waiting by the Casper airport for the remaining portion of the trip. This last group will see the Memorial all the way to Worland where the Wall will make its home for 7 days. Folks in Worland are planning a glorious patriotic reception for the Wall’s entry.
