Have any of the insomniacs out there noticed....

...that when you sleep less than four hours, you are nauseated and grumpy the entire next day, not to mention lacking in judgment, fine motor coordination and patience? Just thought I'd point out these side effects in case you were unaware.

Churn, churn, churn

With apologies to the lovely Alyssa for stealing her words, I've got the churn bad tonight. Insomnia is not my friend, but has been my constant companion for most of my life. Sunday nights, even now that I don't have a "normal" (that is, M-F, 9-whatever) job anymore, are still the nights that I am most likely to lie awake for hours, worrying about things that I probably cannot fix at 1:20 in the morning. And the fact that I'm awake at 1:20 means several other things:

1. I will not get up at 5:30 to go work out. I don't do this every day (ha!) but it is my constant goal, because it's the only time I really like to exercise.
2. I will likely get out of bed and go eat something junky, like the delicious ginger gelato I just had.
3. I will be in a piss-poor mood tomorrow, and will feel behind all damn day.

As a last resort (I've already spent 30 minutes randomly searching people from my past, etc. on the internet) it's time for Trading Spaces on TiVo. If that doesn't make me tired, I don't know what will...though tonight, TV is not my friend, because of the deeply f'd up episode of Six Feet Under we watched tonight. Can someone explain the point of this frightening but totally offbase episode?
