Why are so many right wingers so profane?

One thing I've noticed on some of the right-leaning sites I've visited is that their authors often resort to profanity, to really graphic name calling, to downright graphic (and unnecessary) epithets hurled at those with whom they disagree...can anyone explain this to me?  I understand the use of profanity as an uncontrolled response to anger (God knows, it's something I'm working on myself as I try to keep my four year old from thinking that the f-word is an appropriate response to not being able to find your favorite action figure) but on a blog?  Why?  In a discussion of ideas?  Why? When I was in school, creative writing teachers always taught that using profanity was the easy way out--that it meant you couldn't find the real words to express your characters' ideas.  Is that what's happening here?  The ideas don't hold water, so the recourse is to language so off-putting that it shuts down the discussion?
