Son of Debate

I guess it was a pretty even debate between the VP candidates, but doesn't Dick Cheney make you feel all warm and fuzzy? I almost choked when he claimed

The senator has got his facts wrong. I have not suggested there's a connection between Iraq and 9/11, but there's clearly an established Iraqi track record with terror.

I suppose there are a lot of people who will swallow this whole, and to them, Cheney and Bush should just point out that, indeed, US special forces captured and killed Osama bin Laden months ago, and the liberal media is keeping the news locked up.

Cheney went on to point out that

the 90 percent figure is just dead wrong. When you include the Iraqi security forces that have suffered casualties, as well as the allies, they've taken almost 50 percent of the casualties in operations in Iraq, which leaves the U.S. with 50 percent, not 90 percent.

Interesting that the Iraqi forces have now become part of the Coalition of the Willing. I'm willing to stipulate that, if Bush and Cheney will concede, then, that there have been some 2,400 coalition deaths instead of the 1,204 currently acknowledged. This brings the number of needless deaths in Iraq considerably closer to the 3023 killed in the equally senseless 9/11 attacks.

Dick Cheney says he would do it all over the same way.
