For proof that the Bush administration has succeeded in making the US a safer place, they frequently point to the fact that there have been no terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11.
In the broad view, this is true. The Bush method was to take the big bull's eye from this country, tow it over and place it over Iraq and yell, "Bring it on!"
Remember that ad tompaine.com placed in the New York Times just before the invasion of Iraq? Let me refresh your memory.
The war in Iraq has been the best recruiting device Al Qaeda could have asked for. Why should they waste their effort trying to formulate another 9/11 plan, when it's so much easier to destabilize the US in Iraq, where it's real hard to tell the good Islamic fundamentalist from the bad. And where they apparently have a ready supply of local citizens who've grown to hate the United States enough to become a human bomb.
Oh, and this nonsense about Al Qaeda wants Kerry to win? I seriously doubt that. Why would they want an American president who might unite the rest of the world against them, when everything is going so well with Bush as president?
