Among the many things I'd like to hear John Kerry say in tonight's debate stands this: "If you elect me as your president, I promise that I will not have a co-president. John Edwards, as able as he is, will be vice president. If I'm asked to testify before congress, I will testify alone and for myself. I will not require the presence of the vice president when I testify. If I'm asked to deliver an address, news conference or debate, I will do so on my own terms. I will not require a hidden radio receiver to get my talking points from a remote coach."
