Bumper Sticker Yesterday I saw a large bumper sticker on a car: You can't be both CATHOLIC and PRO-CHOICE. I wanted to ask if you could be both Catholic and pro-death penalty. I always thought one of the main features of Catholicism is the ritual of confession and forgiveness. If you go to the confessional and say, "Father I have sinned - I voted for a pro-choice candidate," you would be told to recite a few Hail Marys as an act of contrition, and then be forgiven. But putting out such an audacious statement on a bumper sticker invites further questions of faith. Can you be both Catholic and an adulterer? 11:44:21 PM    comment []
