SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - AVN Hall of Fame member Sean Michaels has been invited to lecture film students at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) on June 2, 2004.
Professor Constance Penley, UCSB Director of the Center for Film, Television, and New Media, personally requested Michaels’ appearance stating, “So many people have recommended you for the class and it would mean a lot to my students to be able to hear from you.”
After his presentation, Michaels will take questions from the class. While Michaels intends to utilize visual aids, a live demonstration of his skills is not planned.
Penley teaches Film Studies 150: Topics in Film Genre, subtitled “Pornographic Films”. Students in her class watch adult titles such as Opening of Misty Beethoven and Behind the Green Door, 1999's Buttman Confidential, and the gay video Shooting Porn. Past guest lecturers for the class have included Gino Colbert, Nina Hartley, Veronica Hart, Sharon Mitchell, John Stagliano, and most recently Steven Hirsch.
