If George told you to jump off a bridge, would you?

So there's this guy, Armstrong Williams.  He's a conservative yapper of some note.  Like many conservative yappers, he's been talking up the policies of the President, including No Child Left Behind.  And as you probably know, it's come out that Mr. Williams was not just promoting this stuff because he liked it.

Mr. Williams is making all the appropriate noises about how he always really supported these policies anyway, so it didn't matter that he was getting paid.  Uh huh.  Guess what.  I kinda like dark chocolate, but if someone's gonna pay me $240,000 to eat it, I'm gonna like it a whole lot more.

But here's my favorite part.  Mr. Payola Williams somehow forgot that he was playing a fall guy.  According to Nation columnist David Corn, he casually mentioned that "this happens all the time."  Come again?

"There are others."

Others?  Which others?  Bush appeared on Rush Limbaugh's show - is Rush getting paid?  (Probably helps pay for all those prescriptions.)  O'Reilly often shills for Bush, even though he claims to be a political agnostic.  Is O'Reilly getting paid?

George Will almost certainly isn't getting paid.  Kos hilariously suggested that until a list of other payees becomes public, "we can assume every conservative pundit is on the White House's payola rolls."  Hilarious, except ... um ... it's kinda true.

Meanwhile, Scott McClellan took the low road, suggesting that the only blame here should go to Armstrong "stool pigeon" Williams for opening his big fat mouth.  At the same time, he said that the media had an obligation to report "in an objective, unbiased and fair manner" and that the government had an obligation to "provide accurate information."  But, oh yeah, Williams never shoulda said anything about his talking money.  Mmm'kay.

Alert: Radio Userland acting weird. Is it me?

So I have given this entry a name for the link. The link is the following:

http://blogs.salon.com/0003928/userland_acting_weird.html

I've tried to use the "titlelink" feature in Radio Userland for the last few days. I was under the impression that this would make it easier to find and link to past blog entries. But for some reason, the links I create don't work.

I've been watching the complaints against Radio build up for months. This is honestly the first time I've run into inexplicable problems. Anyone else out there used this feature? Any suggestions? There are, of course, no protocols or helpful tips listed in the user's manual. Help!

If I can't figure out how to fix this, I may just delete it. It seems that Yahoo, now that they're using RSS, creates an automatic linkable title for every blog entry, including the entries for yours truly.
