Should I be outraged? It's so hard...Oh, this will be a hard week. Bushie gets re-inaugurated on Thursday. I have to remember not to watch the news then.Or listen to the radio. Or read the paper on Friday. Maybe Saturday, too. Sigh... It's so hard to be outraged anymore. So he's arrogant. so he thinks he has the mandate of the people at his back, even though most polls put the lie to that. Who expects any different?! Remember the steamroller he used to pass his first tax break, back before 9/11, back when no one realized how relentless a politican he really was? This is a man who always believes he's right - why would he be any different now? So he's been pushing the non-partisan employees of the Social Security Administration to sell his "No Surplus Left Behind" plan? Can you possibly be surprised? (And please, please, just ignore Dan Bartlett's bizarre comments that no one's being pushed. He's on crack.) The Republicans are winning now by attacking viciously, denying any solution but theirs, and bending any rule they can. If that means buying positive news coverage, so be it. If that means keeping the voting open for three hours to pass the phony baloney Medicare solution, so be it. So they're pressuring SSA to act like partisan mouthpieces? So what else is new? 7:14:08 PM |
