Girl in the Locker Room

  Girl in the Locker Room!
... because she and her friends don’t know the reality of a few short years back, they don’t recognize the threats to 21st century female life in the current political climate. We have to tell them. We have to tell them now.
...This is a cyber history project. Contribute stories about your own experiences by e-mail or comment on my running blog entries as a barrier-breaking generation gives context to contemporary female life.

I'm sliding into this, but tonight I begin what I hope will be a regular weekly feature, Robin's Salon Blog Peeks wherein I will offer you a quick look at Salon blogs and blog postings that I think deserve more eyes. This won't be a definitive roundup; just some new and random picks to broaden your blogosphere. The subjects may well be off topic, not the expected Girl in the Locker Room material. Hope you like the service.

I begin today (actually inadvertently began yesterday with David Harris. See the Harry Potter posting below) with a charming posting on the passing of James Doohan, Star Trek's Scotty, by Birdie over at Beauty Dish: The Underground Adventures of an Avon Lady. Birdie is a gifted natural writer with an eye for the telling detail. If you like her Scotty story, you must read a mini-series of postings she wrote recently called The Table. She tortured us day to day and week to week as she spun out this tale, but now she's got it compiled in one long take. Savor it.
