Senator Chuck Hagel, to his colleagues:
"What do you believe? What are you willing to support? What do you
think? Why were you elected?" he asked. "If you wanted a safe job, go
sell shoes."
How dare he embarrass the Senate's GOP by impugning their courage when they are so clearly responsible for allowing Bush to continue to prosecute an illegitimate war by gambling with the lives of Americans, many of whom are called upon to exhibit vast reserves of courage every day during their multiple and extended tours of duty during said war. (Don't even get me started on the innocent Iraqi lives lost!)
Can Senator Hagel really believe that his colleagues have sufficient reserves of their own courage now that it is (past)time to hold George Bush accountable? Is he merely naive? Or maybe a fool? Let the debate begin!
