Dear George,   Just a quick note.  Listen, Ashcroft is the best damn pit bull in your administration.  History will remember him as an immortal.  But, sometimes the energy of genius must be channeled into more productive lines.   Tell Ashcroft to go easy on child pornography.  It could have a detrimental effect on the world economy.  Here’s the problem:  Ashcroft carries on about kiddy porn.  This gets the do-gooders up in arms.  They start screaming about the sexual exploitation of children.  And before you know it, they’re screaming about the exploitation of children in sweatshops.  If this catches on, we lose a few points off the old profit margin.   I swear,  these people seem to think that if the kids weren’t chained to their work stations they’d be gamboling through verdant meadows.  They don’t understand that these children are sacrificing their childhood so we can keep our boutiques well stocked.  What the hell do they want, fashion or healthy brats?   Your admirer,   Belacqua Jones 7:01:30 AM    comment []
