Dear George,

The bastards!  The secularists and deconstructionists have finally martyred St. Thomas DeLay! And that’s exactly what it is: martyrdom.  It had nothing to do with his corruption and everything to do with his Christian faith.  His enemies couldn’t stomach his piety; they were appalled by his belief that a return a theocratic state would be the salvation of America.

It’s always that way.  Men of faith are constantly being pilloried for their beliefs.  They demonized DeLay for a few golf outings and some free flights.  Big deal!  Since when did faith demand poverty?  Didn’t Jesus live high off the hog during the time he stayed, “free,” with Mary and Martha?  How many luxury suites did he sleep in while someone else picked up the tab? Believe me; if Jesus came back today, he wouldn’t be facing the Grand Inquisitor.  Federal prosecutors would be grilling him about the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh he accepted from some foreign leaders.

This is simply another round in the war against Christianity.  Men of faith have not endured this much persecution since they fed the fat cats in Rome.  How much longer will we allow Satan’s minions to gnaw away at our moral fabric.  Pardon DeLay, George, and show the world that we are still a Christian nation that values faith over honesty. Show them all that we will prevail over the forces of evil that are trying to bring down pious men like St. Thomas De Lay.

Your admirer,

Belacqua Jones
