Dear George,

Last night whilst laying face down in the muck, stoned senseless, God revealed to me the source of your power.  It all has to do with sacrifice.  Your ascent started the day you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal savior.  In doing so, you sacrificed your old self to give your life over to Christ, and therein lay the key.

Every sacrifice is an act of deceit.  On the surface, we seem to be worshiping the gods and acknowledging their power.  In fact, we are simply trying to con them into doing our will.  No priest ever sacrificed a virgin while intoning, “Thy will, not mine, be done.”  It is always, “This is what I need.”

The foundation of authority is hypocrisy.  Hypocrisy makes possible the Big Lie that destroys what it celebrates.  Those who call you a liar are wrong.  For you, the Big Lie is the voice of God. This divine spark makes the false true.  One of the perks of sacrifice is that we make God a coconspirator in our sins.  With God on your staff, what need have you of the public?

Your admirer,

Belacqua Jones
