Dear George,

Today, my heart throbs with patriotic ardor after hearing your spirited defense of your Endless War of the Empty Policy before the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies. (Your gift for irony hasn’t decreased one iota.)

You told the world, “We will not lose our nerve,” hunkered down as we are behind the razor wire and concrete barricades of the Green Zone.  Deftly, you blamed everything on our “enemies”, the majority of Iraqis who want us out of their country.  With vigor, you damned the formation of a Shiia controlled Iran/Iraq coalition, the one that is the product of your policies.

The crowning touch of your speech was when you accused the media of undercutting your fantasy by feeding too much reality to the American public.  My heart sang when you said, “Terrorists are losing on the field of battle, so they are fighting this war through the pictures we see on television and in the newspapers everyday.”

The American public demands make believe, and you have delivered. You are our Peter Pan leading us up through the clouds towards Never-Never Land.

Your admirer,

Belacqua Jones
