Dear George,

Let us chitchat some more about reality.  The first rule of reality is that reality is never grounded in reality.  Rather, it is a schematic diagram, a series of fine lines and sharp angles spread like Black Widow’s web over the boiling cauldron we call life.

Once the schematic is drawn, words are dribbled the length of its lines.  The result is an idiot’s song sung in a discordant monotone that slowly leads the listener away from the cauldron and into a castle of make believe built of fairy tales and Norman Rockwell magazine covers.

Should a listener be tempted to turn back towards the cauldron he is derided for his naiveté and ignorance.  Only the web of the schematic is real, shored up as it is by the strength of its gossamer threads, sparkling in the sunlight with the words strung along its length like shimmering droplets of piss.

The intellectually muscle-bound understand the simplicity of the schematic. The further they move away from the cauldron, the more complex the web becomes as schematic gives birth to more schematics that give rise to even more schematics that give rise to critiques of critiques of critiques of schematics underlying schematics underlying other schematics grounded in a critique of a now discredited schematic.

Only the wise are foolish enough to stand around and stare into the cauldron.  So keep your intellectual heavy weights spinning web after web.  The more webs you spin, the realer you are.

Your admirer,

Belacqua Jones
