Dear George,

All despots need lapdogs and lackeys to spread eau de cologne on the shit they leave in thier wake. You have as fine a collection as history has ever seen.  Of course, collecting lapdogs and lackeys is easy when where there is no real opposition, except the American public.

If the Neocons are your purebreds, then the Democrats are your mutts, and the mutt with the tail that wags like the butt of a French whore is Congressman Rahm Emmanuel, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).  In the run up to the midterms, the man only funded candidates who supported your Iraq enterprise.  It’s a pity that of the twenty-two candidates he funded, only eight won.  But God bless him, his heart was in the right place.

Now that the Democrats control Congress, Rahm’s game plan for Iraq is to do nothing.  Nada!  Zilch!  Nossir, Rahm is too much of a politician to do anything like ending the war. His strategy is to let the slaughter and carnage continue while the Republican Party self-destructs.  Come 2008, the Democrats will slide into office, end the war and pick up the pieces.

Dead and maimed bodies mean nothing when power politics are in play.  It’s a normal political ploy to give your opponent enough rope to hang himself. Usually, it’s a fun spectator sport.

Since Rahm is unable to see around his blinders, he fails to understand that we are entering one of those rare historical moments where the public expects morality and ethics to trump political strategy, which explains why politicians ignore the public.

Regrettably, the public does explode from time to time, and when it does, it has a habit of flushing the political commode.

I’m sure Rahm will make a great lobbyist.

Your admirer,

Belacqua Jones
