Dear George,
Isn’t psychosis dynamic? Where would the world be without madness? There would have been no Roman Empire, no Carthage, no Crusades, no bringing of Christianity to the New World. We would have had neither World War I nor II, nor Hiroshima, nor Korea, nor the Cold War, nor Vietnam, nor Iraq.
History is history because Mankind is mad, and America would not be America if our corporatist elite were not the most psychotic group ever to dominate the world. Look at how far we’ve carried our insanity. We nowbelieve:
- Oil is environmentally friendly.
- We can achieve peace through war.
- We build by destroying.
- Our hungry are better fed than Africa’s hungry.
- In a health care grounded in miracles, not medicine.
- There is no difference between a dead child and a broken doll.
- The Book of Genesis is a scientific document.
The new sanity is madness. We have marginalized the old sanity into drugs, rock, books, spiritual journeys, and Prozac addiction. This is as it must be for nothing could destroy the sanity of madness like the sanity of sanity.
You are our inspiration. When it comes to the sanity of madness, the nation looks to you for guidance. Power is only possible in a fantasyland because the essence of power is an unshakable belief in that which isn’t, be it our military strength or our morality. We are children who see monsters in every closet and believe that the good fairy of military might will shoo the them all away. So it is that we continue to bray about a potency long since turned to dust.
