Destruction is such a turn-on, especially now that we have our politicians and Corporatist Oligarchy in a dead-heat to see who can bury America first. I gotta tell ya, Big Guy, that with you in the driver’s seat, my money’s been on the politicians for some time. But look out; the bean counters are closing in on you.
Both politics and the Oligarchy are pulled along the road to ruin by a troika made up of ego, greed and stupidity. Power dulls a man’s senses as it takes a normally rational human being and turns him into a drooling dolt. The only difference between the two is that politics operates in an opaque fishbowl while the Oligarchy operates in a toxic fog. However, more and more rank odors are emanating from the fog.
The one thing politicians and the Oligarchy have in common is an inability to learn from past mistakes. To them, a major fuck-up is a model for future behavior. The politicians repeat Vietnam, and the Oligarchy repeats the S&L debacle and the dot.com bust.
A dazzling example of the genius behind the Oligarchy surfaced in the news the other day. In order to reduce expenses, Circuit City plans to fire 3,400 of its experienced sales personnel and replace them with minimum-wage drones who don’t know shit from Shinola when it comes to electronics.
The financial wizards at Circuit City figure the public is so habituated to shitty service, they won’t really care, and the firm will save $250,000 that way. The question is whether more than $250,000 worth of sales will migrate to Best Buy whose employees know what they’re talking about.
Doesn’t self-destruction just twiddle your tweeter? Between subprime mortgages and subprime corporate bonds, the Oligarchy is making you look like a fucking Boy Scout when it comes to trashing the country.
Hurry up and do something brainless, like nuking Iran.
