Dear George,
Nothing disqualifies a man for a position of power and leadership like caring about children. Leaders know that children are marketing tools and not objects of love and compassion.
The strong leader is strong because a steel rod of moral indifference stiffens his backbone. Leadership is the ability to order the slaughter of innocents without the slightest scratch of remorse marring the blank slate that is the leader’s mind.
A strong resolve is the leader’s weapon of choice, resolve simply being an ego with a hard-on. This resolve reinforces the leader’s strength of character that gives him the courage to die for his principles, as long as it is others who are doing the dying.
His strength of character manifests itself in his refusal to coddle children by providing the adequate shelter, clothing or food. The strong leader is one who gazes at a sick and feverish child and feels nothing.
George, you displayed all of these qualities when you vetoed Congress’s irresponsible expansion of the Children’s Health Program. It was an act of the highest moral courage.
However, I have saved the most important of the leadership qualities for last, and that is the ability to spin gold thread out of the bullshit of hypocrisy. Well sir, you crossed the finish line when you justified your veto in the name of “fiscal responsibility” even as you were asking Congress for an additional $190 billion to fund your Iraq enterprise.
Never in our history have we seen leadership like yours. Your infamy will long survive your time in office. Rest assured, history will remember you.
Your admirer,
Belacqua Jones
