Incidentally, the comments from users on the page linked in the previous entry are an excellent example of what's wrong with 'leave your comments' pages on the BBC site (and elsewhere). A classic collection of rants and "me-too" bigotry (interspersed with the occasional insightful comment).

Today surely marks the official 'so over' point for Boris Johnson's pose as an amiable buffoon. In an extraordinary editorial in his Spectator magazine, the Tory MP for Henley on Thames accused Liverpudlians of wallowing in self-pity over the murder of British engineer Ken Bigley in Iraq. As if to ensure that the offence was complete, the article also raised the old canard about the behaviour of Liverpool fans during the Hillsborough disaster.
So the mask slips, and Mr Johnson is revealed as a thoughtless bigot. Can he really be allowed to stay as a shadow minister?
