OBAMA’S TRIP ABROAD MADE ME PROUDER OF BEING AN AMERICAN AT ANY TIME SINCE JFK SPOKE IN BERLIN

IF THE SKEPTICS ARE NOT CONVINCED OF OBAMA’S PREPAREDNESS TO BE PRESIDENT THEY ARE EITHER A DYED IN THE WOOL REPUBLICAN, PREJUDICE  BEYOND REDEMPTION, OR SO INTELLECTUALLY CHALLANGED THAT YOU ARE A SIX-PACK SHORT OF A CASE

As the presumptive Democratic nominee for the presidency stood before 200,000 Berliners and masterfully delivered his brilliant speech, my mind hurdled back to June 26, 1963 when JFK stood before 120,000 people and gave his earthshaking address that redirected the stream of history.

Obama reestablished the love for America which has been suppressed since George W. Bush preemptively invaded Iraq and initiated a war that should never been waged and caused the admiration which had so generously been directed to our beloved country to fade.

If you did not have a lump in your throat as this brilliant young man acted every bit the President of the United States and won over a massive crowd of people who were jubilantly waving the American flag and cheering at the top of the lungs for the United States of America, you are a cold hearted imbecile who cannot see greatness when it is standing directly in front of you.

Obama has proven once and for all that not only is he prepared to be president of the United States, but that he has the emotional maturity, superb judgment and the experience and confidence imperative to becoming the world next great leader.

If I hear one negative word out of the mouths of the Republican candidate for office, its PR firm-- Fox News, or any of its many diminutive minds, i.e. Hannity, O’Reilly, Ingraham performers on this mockery of a television news network, I will place a television channel blocker on my television sets.

This was a week that should have convinced the doubters, those who were independents yet unready to make up their minds, and even some who were previously committed to McCain.

Better yet I do not want to hear some of those double-baked Hillary lovers who made the absurd statement that they would vote for McCain rather than vote for Obama, that they would vote for four more years of Bush rather than vote for the Democratic principles so eloquently articulated by Barack Obama and identical to those of Hillary Clinton.

2008 is the most vital election in our country’s history. When one puts Obama up against John McCain Obama wins hands down. Obama was right in his opposition to going to war in Iraq, he was right by his insistence on finishing the war in Afghanistan, he was right about the surge which contrary to John McCain’s military mind set and the press’s un-investigated assumption that the surge has worked simply because fewer American soldiers have been killed and fewer suicide bombings on the streets of Baghdad, ought to speak to reporters like Lara Logan at CBS, or the men and women on the streets of other Iraqi cities to find the truth hidden by the smoke of the propaganda machine running out of the White House, the Pentagon and the Green Zone in Baghdad

Nobody seems to be listening to our most powerful enemy in Iraq, Moqtada al Sadr who at the time the surge was called for by Bush, al Sadr called for a retreat by his 60,000 man Mahdi army until the Americans had been fooled into redeploying its army.

The truth is that whenever we leave Iraq, 15months, five years, 100 years, the Shiites will take control of the country, continue their goal of eliminating the Sunnis that supported and worked for Saddam Hussein and the U. S. , and will gain control of the oil reserves aided and abetted by Iran.

McCain fails to understand that George Bush has already overtly declared that we have won the war and the remaining tasks are up to the Iraqi government to make for themselves a functioning nation.

If McCain is correct—that the surge has worked, then let us get the hell out of there and bring our soldiers back to the authentic fight against terror which is in Afghanistan/Pakistan..

The point that most journalists missed was the Bush/McCain plan to establish 58 permanent U. S.  military bases throughout Iraq that would allow us to attack Iran and protect Iraq from an Iranian invasion, protect the oil wells which have been given leases to several of Bush’s friends, and to quell any internal insurgent is not going to happen.

That is why McCain’s alleged blunder that America might be there 100 years was not a blunder at all. The military-industrial complex that has profited more from this war than any other group, wants to keep our troops on the ground in Iraq, build the bases and maintain control of the oil that  is brought to the surface.

Iraq is opposing the Bush Administration’s attempt to establish permanent bases on their soil. They want American troops out of Iraq in 16 months which is precisely what Barack Obama has recommended for two years.

With the Taliban and the al Qaeda both reestablishing their military presence in Afghanistan, Obama again makes McCain look like an old military hero who has lost touch with the world of 2008 version of war.

If McCain can bring himself to see that the surge has not succeeded and has yet to be completed, he will recognize that the political issues must be resolved before there can be a nation on Iraqi soil.

In my opinion that will never happen!  More importantly any unity government that emerges out of these negotiations will be controlled the sixty per cent of the Iraqis who are Shiites and are allies of Iran.

American bases and American control of Iraqi oil are goals about as reachable as the establishment of outer space living units on Mars; in other words, impossible

Obama is brighter than anyone to has run for the presidency in decades, he has experience in bringing previously incompatible groups together, he has held public office for eleven (11) years, a professor of Constitutional Law for seven years, he is an experienced manager of people, and he is prepared to walk out on the international stage as a competent, intelligent and highly respected president equal to if not superior to any other leader in the world.

Electing this man to the presidency is a once in a lifetime opportunity to repair our national image with the rest of the world while simultaneously placing a real leader of men in the highest office in our land.
