JOHN EDWARDS IS A VERY GOOD AND GENEROUS MAN WHO DESERVES BOTH ACCEPTANCE AND FORGIVENESS

WHY IN THE HELL DO SO MANY PEOPLE FEEL OTHER PEOPLE’S SEX LIFE IS THEIR BUSINESS?

IF ELIZABETH AND THE FAMILY CAN ACCEPT HIS AFFAIR, NO ONE ELSE SHOULD BE JUDGING IT

Every time one of our politicians has an affair the media moves into high gear and spends all of the precious air time and news space on matters that are none of their business.

It is a fact that nearly seventy percent of all males have affairs. The sexual drive of males is quite different than that of a female. Men see sex as a biological function not unlike taking a shower. It can be void of emotion, void of feelings and nothing more than the release of anxiety which is the driving force behind the need for sexual discharge.

Women tie sex to feelings and sentiment and in doing so appear to lack any understanding for men who have intercourse outside of marriage.

A young recently married woman found her husband masturbating in the bathroom, left him and is filing for divorce. This is pure absurdity.

According to Men’s Health males masturbate once a day. Very young males often service themselves as many as 10 times per day. When we talk about sex, we are talking about an often overwhelming drive that takes control in times of great anxiety.

If we go down the list of presidents, we know that with few exceptions presidents who are constructed like all other males have had sexual partners outside the confines of marriage. One Republican president, according to experts in this field, had the Secret Service bring a young teenage girl to him several times a week. By the way, he was a Republican

Edwards was facing the apprehension produced by the pressures of an  intensive presidential campaign, plus the trepidation of facing the potential loss of his beloved wife Elizabeth to cancer. With the probability that his wife had not been available for sex over a prolong period of time, as the days, weeks and months passed, and the pressures of both the campaign and the health of his wife bore down on him, he reached a point when he was most vulnerable to a person (woman) who could give him a chance for some passion without strings. From all accounts, she was a woman of strong spiritual beliefs packaged in an iron-clad ego, and loaded to the gills with compassion.

Most women see this as the typical selfishness of the male of the species when in fact it is written into the male DNA and is never to be seen as a lack of love for his wife and never to be labeled weakness. It is his innate humanity rearing its head.

It is part of this country’s overdose on Christianity. While the president of France can openly have a mistress, can die and have both his wife and his mistress at the grave side, Americans are shocked beyond belief.

If our Christianity were real, MSNBC, Fox, CNN, the newspapers would recall the words of Jesus before we hounded the man to death—“Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.”

The media would also remember that they are simply piling hurt upon hurt, guilt upon guilt without justification. It is none of their business and it is none of the business of the American people. The sexual drive is the most compelling urge present in the body of every male and depending upon the conditions surrounding that body will manage that drive differently with each set of circumstances.

Edwards had already told his wife and family. They are the only ones who needed to know and needed to deal with the issue.

While watching MSNBC tonight, the substitute host for Hardball made the Edwards confession the theme of the entire show. The host barely mentioned that Russia had invaded Georgia.  Mike Barnacle and Andrea Mitchell and to some degree all other participants were very judgmental.

However, James Warren of the Chicago Tribune and the young lady from Financial Times, Chrystia Freeland put the incident in the proper perspective and gave Edwards the benefit of some vital compassion.

Until journalists and others live perfect lives they should not be so blatantly disparaging of the mistakes made by others. Or to put it another way, until you have walked in the shoes of John Edwards, judge not…
