PALIN IS THE WICKED WITCH OF THE NORTH
ACCUSING OBAMA OF “PALLING” AROUND WITH AN UNREPENTANT TERRORIST IS DETESTABLE
OBAMA AND WILLIAM AYERS, THE TERRORIST TO WHICH PALIN WAS REFERRING IN HER DISGUSTING REMARKS IN CANTON IS THE SON OF THE FORMER CEO OF COMMONWEALTH EDISON, WHO SERVED ON A NON-PROFIT BOARD TOGETHER AND WERE NOTHING MORE THAN ACQUAINTANCES, FORTY YEARS AFTER THE YOUNG MR. AYERS WAS INVOLVED IN VIOLENT ANTI-VIET NAM WAR ACTIVITIES. BARACK WAS 8 YEARS OLD.
All of you men and women who have gone goggle-eyed over this cute “hockey mom,” “moose hunting,” little witch who attends a fundamentalist church that actually invited a “witch hunting” minister to purge all of the evil spirits out of her when she became Governor of Alaska, must be shocked at her behavior and the accusations she is flinging at Barack Obama. It is obvious that the “witch doctor” missed several obnoxious spirits that remain in her soul and are rearing their ugly heads in the final month of this presidential campaign.
As a Christian I am appalled; as a liberal Democrat I am not surprised at all. John McCain insulted the intelligence of the American people by selecting this under-experienced, under-educated, mean-spirited woman from the northern wilds to sit second chair to the president should the country be unfortunate enough or stupid enough to vote McCain into office.
We all knew that the McCain campaign people had prepared a TV commercial to slam Obama’s acquaintance with William Ayers who at the time Barack was eight years old, was participating with an underground movement primarily committed to the anti-Viet Nam war cause.
However, subsequently Ayers, 63 years old, has become a respected professor of education at the prestigious University of Chicago and serves on the boards of directors of numerous non-profit organizations. He is consultant in the field of education to Mayor Richard Daly of Chicago and is respected world-wide for his knowledge in the field of education.
It is ironic that a recently unknown Governor from Alaska would spread such a repugnant lie when as a fundamentalist Christian she is turning her back on the very principles that make her religion so unique in the vicious world of politics.
Palin knew that the reporter who wrote the New York Times article she used as the basis for her comments made it very clear that his investigation revealed nothing that linked Obama directly or indirectly to Ayers. Yet, she proceeded to tell only half of the truth. She lied and apparently feels no remorse for her violation of one of the major tenets of her faith.
Obama, while working as a community organizer, was also asked to serve on a non-profit charity board. He met Dr. Ayers there and they worked together strictly as fellow board members and in other community projects. They are not pals as Palin (stealing the author’s words) labels them nor are they close friends. They are people who served their community and were acquaintances. In fact, when Obama first met Ayers, he like most of the people in this city of millions of people had no idea that Ayers was a member of the Weathermen and had participated in their numerous violent activities.
Governor Palin has taken on the mantel of the lying, cheating and despicable Senator from Arizona and is running against Obama and not for the vice presidency. The fact that McCain selected Palin who suffers from a lack of experience, she is also deficient in the knowledge of current events to be able to answer the innocuous questions posed to her by Gwen Ifill in the Thursday night debate.
In fact, I thought Ifill did a slipshod job in not posing following-up questions that would have forced her to answer questions she told, Ifill, the Senator and the audience that would not answer if she felt so moved.
She is running for the second highest office in the land and the American people have a right to know what she knows and does not know about the job she seeks and qualifications she has to assume those responsibilities and others she may be forced to assume if elected.
Today, in a Colorado airport hangar, she told a select audience chosen especially for the occasion that Obama “is not a man who sees America as you see it and how I see America. We see America as the greatest force for good in this world. If we can be the beacon of light and hope for others who seek freedom and democracy and can live in a country that would allow intolerance in equal rights that again our military men and women fight for and die for, for all of us. Our opponent (I assume her opponent is Obama although she is running against Biden for vice president) though, is someone who sees America it seems as being so imperfect that he’s palling (the correct spelling of the word is paling) around with terrorists who would target their country.”
As I mentioned earlier, Palin pulls this wording right from the New York Times whose reporter, Scott Shane, did Obama more harm than good by writing and publishing this piece one month prior to the election, fails to tell her audience the truth that the article reflects.
Mr. Shane went to Chicago to review the records of the school projects and to interview a dozen people who know both men. Shane determined that “the two men do not appear to have been close. Nor has Mr. Obama ever expressed sympathy for the radical views and actions of Mr. Ayers, whom he has called “somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.”
We have all heard the phrase, “making a mountain out of a mole hill,” well Palin is doing just that. Palin lies. Palin tells half truths. Together Palin and McCain will say anything that harms the reputation of their opponents and anything that they believe will make them look good. However, when they lie, or when they tell half truths, they do not look good, they look like spineless cowards and pathetic liars, which in fact is the truth.
They lie because they cannot answer the questions the American people want answered. In fact, one must ask if they even know the answers?
Palin, during the debate when she was stumped by the most innocent questions Ifill could asked, simply changed the subject and answered with a prepared and memorized text that her handlers had written for her.
I told people who asked me about how I thought Palin would do in the debate, that the bar was so low for her performance that if she showed up she would be judged to have won. Give her a teleprompter with a speech written by a professional speech writer and we learn that she can read. Ask her a question about her party’s position on health care, and she changes the subject to something else her professional speech writers have written and she has memorized as filler.
I am sorry, but this country is on the verge of one of the most economically dangerous depressions we have faced since 1929. Even as I am writing this blog, the stock market on October 6, 2008 has dropped 550 points which is a warning sign of dire economic times ahead.
We simply do not have time to have two people running on the Republican ticket who do not have the brains or the experience to give us answers that will solve this financial quandary.
Guess who got us to this crisis? The very man who been sitting in the Oval Office since January, 2001 and the very man whose economic policies McCain has embraced. Eight years of failure should not be rewarded by four more years of the same, lame economics.
McCain has insulted the intelligence of most Americans by bringing to the Republican side of the ballot one of the most inexperienced and hopelessly ignorant candidates on public issues that we have ever had to endure.
More importantly, after I discovered that she was exorcised by a witch hunting preacher who drove all of the evil spirits out of her mind and body in front of her fundamentalist congregation, I realized what a real farce this woman is. The last thing I want in the Vice Presidency is a person who believes in witches.
I really am not interested in her charm, or about the amount of energy she can bring to the Republican ticket. I want to know what she knows, and thus far she has failed to allow the voting public to peek inside her mind to know what she thinks and what she believes about the crucial issues facing our nation.
The Republican hierarchy have kept her caged inside of McCain’s home in Arizona, or in hotel rooms where the press is not permitted to question her about the issues she would face should the country confront the tragedy of having her elected to the second most important office in the land. Where does she stand on the issue of universal health care for all Americans? Where does she stand on the war in Iraq. Does she truly believe as her mentor John McCain believes, that the United States can and must win this war to be successful? Does she believe that guns should be available to those who have a criminal record or suffer from mental illness? Does she believe that AK-47’s should be available to the general public? Does she believe that abortion should be denied to those who have been raped or impregnated as a result of incest? Is she truly a fundamentalist who believes that every word in the Bible is written by the finger of God? Does she believe that global warming is a product of any other source than man’s deeds or misdeeds? Does she believe that the U. S. should be in low level communications with enemies of our government?
These and a thousand other questions which she as yet to answer deserve to be revealed to the American people before they decide whether or not to vote for her for the Vice Presidency of the United States. Except for one more—does she believe she is capable and experienced enough to be the president of the United States should Mr. McCain become physically impaired from cancer or killed by an assassin’s bullet?
We cannot afford to count on a cute, charming inexperienced, little brown haired governor from Alaska simple because she is a mother, simply because she is someone who can wink at the right time and smile when the audience is listening carefully to her every pre-prepared word. This is a matter of life and death. Unfortunately, some of the women in this country are so naïve that they would not recognize a qualified person for office unless that person walked on water. “She understands me,” some have told television reporters. “She is a working mom and can identify with my predicament,” others have said. There is one big difference, Palin, as Governor of Alaska, earns, $81,648 plus expenses, a mansion staffed by people who clean, care for her children and in general relieving her of the duties working mothers normally handle.
If Palin and McCain believe that they will win the hearts of the American people by denigrating their opponent by lying, telling half-truths, and slinging innuendos at Barack Obama they are sorely mistaken. The vast majority of the electorate today is too smart to fall for smear campaigns against the opponents. The country is looking for change and solutions to the failures of the Bush/McCain years. Affronts on the background of the Democratic opposition or false accusations of the kind that worked so well in 2000 and 2004, will not work this time around for the vacuous Republican Party nominees. The test of truth in this time of enormous and, perhaps disastrous economic catastrophe will be the only strategy acceptable to the heavily engaged electorate in 2008.
