THE SECOND PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE: OBAMA/BIDEN-3- VS MCCAIN/PALIN -0-

OBAMA SCORES BIG IN ALL POLLS EXCEPT FOX NEWS—WHAT A SHOCKER

FOX NEWS IS SO FAR OUT OF TOUCH WITH THE AVERAGE AMERICAN THAT IT REALLY SHOULD BE CALLED FOX CONSERVATIVE OPINION NETWORK RATHER THAN FOX NEWS

I seldom have the stomach to watch Fox News. I can listen to Sean Hannity for about five minutes before I am forced to fix myself a Vodka and tonic. This man has to be a pathological liar. Last night, after the debates I checked into all of the channels that were offering post-debate analysis when I slipped up and landed on Fox.

Hannity, the former Republican Senator from Tennessee, Fred Thompson and Alan Colmes (the vanilla personality who is about as forceful as a lap dog and the token liberal on the Fox News Hannity and Colmes) were analyzing the debate. Out of nowhere, Hannity coughs up his normal magnitude of lies, told his television audience that Barack Obama was proposing a tax hike for all families in the country who earn $42,000. Hannity knows that his assertion was a massive fabrication yet he continues to use it over and over again like a broken record on 33 1/3 record player.

The other “shocker” was the colossal difference in the post-debate poll results:

CNN:

OBAMA      54%        MCCAIN    30%

CBS:

 OBAMA      40%       MCCAIN    26%

SURVEYUSA (CA):

OBAMA      58%       MCCAIN    26%

SURVEYUSA (WA):

OBAMA     54%          MCCAIN    29%

MEDIACURVES (REP):

OBAMA      20%         MCCAIN    68%

MEDIACURVES (DEM):

OBAMA      84%         MCCAIN    10%

MEDIACURVES (IND):

OBAMA      52%         MCCAIN    34%

CNN (EARLY POLL)

OBAMA      54%         MCCAIN    30%

CBS (UNDECIDED):

OBAMA      39%          MCCAIN    27%

MSNBC/AOL (UNSCI):

 OBAMA      85%         MCCAIN    12%

MSNBC/AOL (WEB):

 OBAMA      51%          MCCAIN    42%

AOL (10-2008) AM :

OBAMA      52%           MCCAIN    41%

MSNBC (VIEWERS):

OBAMA      83%            MCCAIN    13%

SURVEYUSA (CA):

OBAMA      56%            MCCAIN    26%

SURVEYUSA (WA):

OBAMA      54%            MCCAIN    29%

       FOX NEWS:

       OBAMA      08%            MCCAIN    80%

One can readily see that the spot check on Fox News one hour after the debate concluded that they are the propaganda channel for the Republican Party.

I should also point out that MSNBC in its unscientific poll of random viewers gave Obama an 85% to 12% edge over McCain which indicates a significantly progressive viewership.

However, in its commentary, MSNBC offers a range of opinions from Joe Scarborough on the right, to Chris Matthews who tends to be a centrist, and Keith Olberman and Rachael Maddow on the left. In other words, MSNBC gives its viewers a variety of political opinions not only its anchor chairs, but also in its lineup of pundits.

Fox on the other hand has totally conservative voices in both the anchor positions and its panelists.

Many years ago, I gave up watching my favorite ABC news anchor, Peter Jennings because I could not tolerate the right wing analysis that Brit Hume, White House reporter at the time, gave to his reports. The day I discovered that Hume was regularly playing tennis with President George H. W. Bush, I switched to NBC.

I can no longer tolerate Fox for any period of time. Their panel of Neanderthals includes Fred Barnes who has never had an objective perspective in his life. Another regular on the Fox lineup is my least favorite pompous ass, Bill Kristol, who is a neo-conservative that pressed hard for Bush to invade Iraq. Mort Kondracke, in general, an unskilled political writer who gives the viewer no obvious reason to be on the air, is another voice of conservatism whose mind-set remains in the past and while walking around in the 21st century has yet to drag his mind along.

Ann Coulter the real bitch (defined by Webster as a mean woman) in the bunch writes scandalous books, with disgraceful lies and Laura Inghram who is clearly giving Coulter a run for her money has the most despicable woman in America appears to share with her some serious psychological conflicts.

Having never watched much of Fox’s daily offering, I am not familiar with the women who appear as anchors or hosts who pretend to know what is happening in the real world. But I can tell you having heard some blurbs from their chatter and their hostile attitude toward anyone Democratic, named Obama, or anyone who resembles a progressive, they have not convinced me that they deserve my time.

Generally speaking, I am convinced that Fox’s mantra of a “fair and balanced” news operation, in fact, is nothing more than the cable arm of the Republican Party. It does not even make an attempt to be “fair and balanced.”

Of all of those who allow themselves to be employed by this crowd of mental fossils who are so far behind the world the rest of us live in that they think they are first, none disappoints me more than Chris Wallace. His brilliant father, one would have hoped, would have a great impact on his son as he did on the viewing public for decades.

However, the most despicable member of this team of anal retentive right-wingers is Sean Hannity. I am sorry to say, in my opinion that this person comes as close to being a man without a conscience that you can find on a television broadcast. He can lie without a moment of guilt. In fact, he will repeat the same lie over and over again and never feel remorse. He sees only one side of the political issues he addresses everyday, making no attempt to give an unbiased view. As in the case of the Obama tax plan, he knows that his assertion that Obama will raise taxes on every American who earns $42,000 per year, is an out and out lie, but in an attempt to win voters for the Republican ticket, he will repeat it incessantly.

The plan that the Republican strategists have employed is (1) decide what negative attack to pursue, (2) give it to Palin to launch on the campaign trail the very next day after her script is written, (3) turn it over to the boys at Fox and line up the surrogates for McCain who will appear on the shows, (4) and after the surrogates with the enhancements provided by the anchors or hosts, have done their job on all of the television, radio and cable talk shows they can line up, (5) this new attack on Obama will be e-mailed, faxed and phoned to every media outlet in the country. By the end of the day, they will have successfully convinced enough undecided voters who lack the intelligence or the will to question the validity of the lie they have fruitfully planted.

Even Cindy McCain is getting in on the act. Today in Pennsylvania she played the role of the angry mother with a son in Iraq. She flagrantly accused Obama of voting against a bill that funds the fighting troops in Iraq. That is lie and even Cindy who is not the brightest candle on the candelabra knows it. She stood before a crowd of several hundred people and with the sad face of a hostile mom whose son has been threatened by death, she tells only half the truth and half the truth is the same thing as lying. Obama voted against the bill because it did not include a date for withdrawing from Iraq which the vast majority of the American people have demanded through their votes.

Yesterday, the McCain campaign strategy returned to one it has used before—referring to Barack Obama as Barack Hussein Obama. The Sheriff of Lee County, FL in introducing Sarah Palin while wearing his official uniform (in opposition to the Hatch Act) referred to Barack Hussein Obama.

Today, the Chairman of the Republican Party in Pennsylvania repeated the very same slap in Obama’s face.

You know, the Republicans simply cannot win by arguing the issues. They have to lie, they have to tell the half-truths, they have to employ innuendo to win over the unknowing and under-educated people

My God, how can eight percent of the voters still be undecided? After nearly two years of campaigning, if you cannot make up your minds, you may be too dense to vote. But for the sake of the country, if you seek the truth, do not listen to Fox Conservative Opinion Network!
