MCCAIN’S RALLIES ARE GETTING OUT OF HAND

PLEADS WITH MCCAIN TO PULL OUT THE TIRED, OLD LIES ABOUT WRIGHT, AYERS AND OTHERS AT THE FINAL DEBATE
THIS BABY (HARRIS) WAS OBVIOUSLY DROPPED ON HIS HEAD BECAUSE HE IS NOT ALL THERE.
A very angry man shouted out at John McCain at a rally on Thursday, October 09, 2008 in Wisconsin—“How can Obama be ahead of you in this race. It makes no sense. You two (McCain and Palin) have to begin to fight harder or we will lose this election.”
There were other angry people yelling “terrorist” early this week at a Palin rally as she accused Obama of paling around with William Ayres. No wonder her Republican followers have worked themselves into a frenzy because they are so gullible they believe the lies that Palin in particular and McCain frequently have been using as their strategy to win this election. They have no ideas so they are using innuendo, lies and half-truths about Obama.
Some of this stems from racism. I have read in newspapers and heard on television when McCain supporters stipulated that they would never vote for a black man. Racism is something I have written about recently. I am concerned about the depth of racism in this country and the number of people who will not vote for Obama because he is half black and half white in spite of the fact that he is by far the better candidate. Pollsters are saying that there could be 6% swing in the vote between what people tell them and what they do once they get behind the paper curtain of privacy in the voting booth where they feel safe enough to allow their insidious racism to express itself.
Recently, in the posting I made a couple of weeks ago about racism, I used the words of K. L. from Fort Worth, TX when he wrote in the final paragraph of his poem: “This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes, and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference.”
McCain, in the first debate did not look into the face of Barack Obama once during the whole encounter. When the presidential candidate for the Republicans acts in such a boorish manner it is either a result of very deep insecurity or impudence of a very vulgar man.
When the wife of the candidate for the Republican Party, on a public platform before a crowd of several hundred people, makes disparaging remarks about her husband’s Democratic opponent she talks just as cheaply as she dresses.
I heard this week that Cindy McCain paid $350,000 dollars for a dress she wore to the Republican convention the night her husband gave his acceptance speech. My dear, if this is true, you paid $345,000 too much.
However, today in a Minnesota rally two people were caught on television cameras asking some of the most dimwitted questions to come out of the mouth of any person with a brain.
One was a heavy set young man wearing a baseball cap who told the rabidly partisan audience that his wife was expecting a child next April and he wondered if John McCain thought it would be safe to raise his son in a country where Barack Obama, a man who associated with domestic terrorists, was president? McCain had the courage to tell the young man that while he disagreed with Obama on many issues, he was a good and honorable man.
A woman with grey, bushy hair took the microphone handed to her by McCain and said she could not bring herself to trust Barack Obama and as she rambled on, she said she had decided he was an Arab. This time McCain literally grabbed the microphone from her very gently and shook his head, “No,” “No,” he is not an Arab. He is a decent family man,
Here is the point--Palin and McCain under the direction of Rick Davis and others trained in the Atwater, Rove gutters of dirty campaign politics have told the Republican candidate for President that the only way he can turn his campaign around and stop the Obama rush toward victory is to make the campaign about Obama, and associates who bear the scars of previous wrongs--Ayers, Wright, Rezko and others with whom Obama was acquainted from his days as a community organizer.
However, particularly Palin, but also McCain have carried their negatively too far and at these rallies their supporters are becoming totally out of hand. They have been yelling words out loud that denigrate Obama’s character, lied about him and his positions, and boo whenever his name is mentioned.
These boisterous and off times mutinous crowds sound more like a band of militants rather than the normally staid Republican audiences.
As reported today in The Wall Street Journal, the assembly became particularly defiant:
“At a rally in Waukesha, Wis., on Thursday, James T. Harris, a radio host in Milwaukee who is African American, took the microphone and professed his full support for Sen. McCain's candidacy. He urged him to talk more about the "shady characters" -- naming Rev. Wright specifically -- "surrounding" Sen. Obama.
"I am begging you, sir, I am begging you," he said, as the crowd went wild.”
While I am not acquainted with Mr. Harris, it is obvious from what he said at the rally that he knows nothing about which he speaks. How an African American can be so uninformed about the first black candidate of a national party for president is beyond the imagination of any intelligent person.
After the last eight years of the Bush Administration, how any man can support Senator John McCain who has endorsed every failed policy that Bush/Cheney devised, is an enigma. The damage that the Republican President and his Republican Congress has done to America and particularly black America is objectified by the polls where 85% of the American people believe the country is headed in the wrong direction and only 24% of the American voters approve of Bush. Those are the lowest approval numbers in the history of this once great nation.
With the economy crumbling beneath our very feet, James T. Harris lacks the insight and the courage to fight for the rights of his own heritage while falsely accusing one of his own brothers is nearly an unforgivable sin.
There is more to the James T. Harris story than meets the eye.
