I wrote a letter to a free range chicken company one night to see where I could buy a couple of good chickens to cook.
They finally answered, but the free range sites they referred me to were in Pennsylvania! I didn’t want them chickens.

Dear Sir or Madam,
Can you inform me if your chickens are Free Range or Range Free chickens?
I would like to get a few of them un-stressed Free Range ones to cook if I can…..
But if them chickens are livin’ in Pennsylvania or New York, I don’t want em cause there is no such a thing as ‘organic’ in them two states….
Almost all the soil is poisoned there I think. The Industrial Revolution done em in……..
And if they are livin’ out west, I think most of them chickens have been worse off than most of the Range Free chickens. It is a hard life on a real open range in Wyoming or Montana! But if your chickens are Range Free, I might take a couple if they have their hormone shots!
Can you tell me where to buy the best chickens?
Sincerely,
Flatline Hutchison
