Karl Rove, Traitor
For all the talk that Valerie Plame working for the CIA was allegedly commonly known, Matthew Cooper had known Ambassador Wilson and his wife, and he had never had a whisper of a hint of any idea she was CIA. Karl Rove revealed the identity of a covert CIA agent to a reporter, who would naturally think such a thing was news. For some useful perspective on what this is, allow me to refer to the words of President George Herbert Walker Bush.
He said, "Those who would expose covert sources are the most insidious of traitors." President Bush had served as a director of Central Intelligence. This is an area where his opinion would have to be considered expert. I concur with the former President's experienced and considered judgment. Karl Rove is indeed an insidious traitor.
Some other person or people may have been involved in exposing covert sources. That would just make them traitors as well as Karl Rove.

Santorum Has A Big Gay Fan
One gay man is a Santorum supporter. Of course, the Senator is paying him close to a hundred grand for that support. Uber-Republican Senator Rick Santorum has a gay man on his Senatorial payroll. His Communications Director, Robert Traynham, came out last Thursday and said he is "very proud to be with [Senator Santorum]". Santorum has likened homosexuality with bestiality, and said that anyone who engages in homosexual practices will be going to Hell. Traynham also said, "Senator Santorum is a man of principle; he is a man who sticks up for what he believes in". No one has questioned that Santorum comes by his bigotry honestly, and that his hatred of gay people is perfectly sincere. There is no doubt of his devout hatred and contempt for that segment of Americans, among others.
The main thing I always wonder is, if Santorum thinks every one of the gay people in the country is going to Hell, how many other people does he think are going to Hell? There are plenty of other people he disapproves of. I suspect he thinks they are all going to Hell. I suspect he thinks most Americans are going to Hell. For him to win reelection in Pennsylvania next year, Santorum is going to have to get the votes of lots and lots of people that he would consign to hellfire for all eternity, if he had his way.

The Next CBS Anchor
Bob Schieffer himself has suggested he is a placeholder anchorman, which is a pity, because since he's taken over at CBS, I've found him to be far and away the most reliable and appealing anchor, and his broadcast the best and most informative. That said, he probably won't be there long. So it may just be a matter of time before America's finest journalist becomes an anchorman.
Jon Stewart has certainly earned it.
