The Superficial Roberts Discussion

I've actually received a comment, as well as some spoken remarks, condemning me for being superficial on the Roberts nomination.  Well...fair enough.  For instance, I had a little fun with Schumer praising Roberts for being a Bills fan.  This has been a team that's been very painful to root for at times, so I actually have a mild respect for him sticking with his team.  But I'm not the only one being superficial about the Roberts nomination.  I Googled "friendly Supreme Court nominee John Roberts" and got 41,700 hits.  It seems to me that friendliness is perhaps the most superficial, and also the most worthless, compliment that one can pay to another.  I believe Jeffrey Dahmer was friendly.  That would not be a sufficient reason to confirm Dahmer as a Supreme Court Justice.

I will write more substantially about John Roberts; particularly once the confirmation hearings begin, and he actually speaks on the record as to his judicial philosophy.  But right now, I am still taking a careful look at his record.

"How can you stand on this stage, do something so stupid, and then deny it?"

"I'm an American."
