Why the Change?

On January 5th, Presidential spokesman Scott McClellan promised the White House press corps he would let them know exactly how many times Jack Abramoff had been to the West Wing, and who he'd met with.  Since then, he has reversed himself completely...which does beg the question:  Why won't he tell?

There are just four likely possibilities:

A)  Mr. Abramoff has logged more hours in the West Wing than the President, drawing attention to the President's many extremely long vacations.

B)  Mr. Abramoff has been hogging the White House M&M's, which come in a package with the Presidential seal.  This is bound to really upset those giant M&M's that appear on TV, who are liable to come out against the President if they know all their little comrades are getting eaten by a lobbyist.

C)  Mr. McClellan can't count that high.  Granted, Mr. McClellan can say larger numbers than that; but he said he was going to find out how many meetings there were, and he can't count that high.

D)  White House meetings with Mr. Abramoff at the White House were routinely followed within a couple of days by action by the White House on the behalf of Abramoff clients.

It could really be any of those four.  You be the judge.

Electric Six-Don't Be Afraid of the Robot  This is an Electric Six b-side.  Their b-sides are more fun than most bands' singles.  Good dumb fun.  Though, despite the song, robots kind of creep me out.
