Oh, I forgot:

I went down to the post office and mailed my letter to India today.  Can you believe it only cost .80 and will arrive by
next Thurs or Fri???  No special treatment, just regular first class airmail.  Amazing, the things that can be done...

It's 6 pm on a hot afternoon.  I'm just in from mowing the meadow and weedeating around.  Now our house
looks like someone lives here.

After last evenings hassle with trying to upstream, I decided to finally look for other options.  I have about 6 months left
on Salon/Userland.  I don't plan to renew.  Bad customer and technical service for a paid product.  I have some
knowledge of such things, in one of my lifetimes I was a network analyst.

So, check this out:  Small Ponderings at Blogspot.  It's my test drive, and I have to say I'm WAYYYY pleased.  Much easier
to work with than Userland, and if there's a problem you know where it is.  Plus, being backed by the Google
powerhouse can't be bad either.  In 5 minutes I had the thing up and running, picture posted, and the ability
to post to it from email, SUCCESSFULLY AND WITHOUT any cantankerous server errors et al.

Did I mention, it costs NOTHING?  (I am trying to convey my excitement with caps).  And you can post to it from
anywhere.  I like access, and not having to carry my blog software loaded laptop around.  And it has a neat
interface with  MS Word that will allow one to create locally and post globally.  Oh, goody!

I'll be posting entries in both places for a while just to see if this is a temporary miracle or the real deal.

I'm off to cool off and wind down in the twilight.  There's supper to be made, dogs to be walked, and maybe a movie
to watch (or software to work on).  Spousal unit is in the studio at school and won't be seen for a few days,
so its a one man show (such as it is) here on the mountain.

Be cool.
