Radio Userland be Damned!
Okay, so I’m technologically illiterate. It’s not something that I am proud of saying, it’s just a fact. The “science” of technology completely intimidates me and leaves me cowering in the corner of my own personal cyberspace hell, both scared and alone. And never has that ‘scared and alone’ feeling been more pronounced than it has been in the recent past when our friends at Radio “Screw-the-User” Land decided to abandon me, left for dead here at Salon Blogs.
It was over a month ago that I lost access to my preferences area (you know… the area where you can change the design, add the links, adjust the settings… and all that technological mumbo jumbo), and it was over a month ago that I first (and that word should be emphasized to mean first of many) contacted the company’s customer service to help me. So is my issue resolved? No. Is my issue being worked on? No. Am I contemplating leaving Salon and taking my show on the road? Yes. Again…just me…technology…poor customer service…and my private technology-related hell.
Slight Clutter’s Favorites
Now that we got that out of the way, and because I have never been able to stay in yucky bitter mode for very long, I’d like to take this opportunity to provide you with some links to sites that, had my RU system been working properly, would have been listed on my blog as “Slight Clutter’s Favorites” some time ago. I plan to give you ten favorites in five days, starting with the first two today.
Notes on the Revival
Jeremy’s blog is still my personal favorite among the bevy of wonderfully-written, hilariously-funny, evocatively-introspective blogs that I read daily. Notes on the Revival speaks to me on a very personal level, as Jeremy casts aside pretense and humility to provide his readers with a large picture window into his psyche, his intellect, and his environment. You will only have to tune in a couple of times to become a Revival addict.
Dick Jones’ Patteran Pages
Dick’s blog is a wonderful literary concoction made up of side-splitting humor, day-to-day insights, accomplished poetry (love the poetry!), and other ramblings of a magnanimous nature. He is also most generous in his response to his fans’ comments. Another Clutter favorite!
