Meggle
Beta
I wish I were a search engine.
Imagine feeling that useful! Imagine knowing that much!
Someone asks a question, and eventually, you can give them the answer. Sometimes, you can do it right off the bat!
You show them pictures, you give them facts, you provide
details...you find out what they need to know. You make it happen, 10
results at a time. Could I provide this kind of service? Nah. Why?
Because, most of the time, I don't have a clue, let alone a result.
My friends tell me that I'm rife with random factoids; in that way,
I could be said to be Google-esque. But as to the reliability of those factoids,
well...there are no guarantees. They know that, too.
Everyone knows that Google is just mining what other people have stated as
'fact' (well, those that don't think Google is God), but the odds are good that you can find at least a passable
answer if you search hard enough -- and use the right keywords, of
course. I'm not even sure what keywords to use to get the right answer
out of me.
Coffee? Snuggle? Hot Wing? Sleep In?
Nah...even those might not get you results. Well, they'd get you results -- just not the kind you want!
I'm a lover of Google in particular among the search
engines; maybe it's because, as one of my co-workers says, they're
slowly taking over the world. I can respect that kind of drive. But I
think it's more that I love the comprehensiveness of the whole
Goog-thing.
If you wanna do
something online, Google's probably simplifying it or making it look a
bit more groovy somewhere on the web. I shouldn't turn this into a Google ad. Google does not need my help. But I love me the Google.
If I really were a search engine, I'd like to be the kind that got
it right the first time, and knew just exactly what you were looking
for -- even if you didn't know what it was yourself!
Meggle would
eliminate random results, and cut to the chase. Or, conversely, if it
sensed that wasn't the process you were seeking to experience, it would go
through just the right kind of information journey with you, offering
you the valid bits and pieces you needed until you were ready for the
big answer in the end. Whatever worked best, it would do it, so you walked away actually knowing something more than you did before.
I would also have a special button to click that would instantly find
any good thing anyone ever wrote about you on the web. Or even a button that
would generate a list of things that would inspire you in particular.
I'd be a search engine with intuition!
But alas, I'm not one, and I lack answers more often than I actually have them.
I do know one thing for sure, though. One result for every search on Meggle would always say the following:
"Are you sure you're not just really looking for an Oreo?"

Because, more often than not, you probably are.
