jerkmeg update.
Catherine, my dear friend and partner in crime, was unable to get her submission in in time for yesterday's post. So I said I would include it today. Remember, folks, I am establishing my edgy jerk cred, here, so get suitably disgusted at me (I know, I laughed at that, too).
Catherine, Meg's Friend:
Regarding Meg...
Meg does complain, believe it or not. However, she doesn't complain to the masses as some do. She chooses one or a few select people and shares her annoyance. I never think of it as complaining because Meg and I are quite alike, and I usually agree and join in. Topics can include money, men (because they sure give us a lot to complain about), work (mine usually), stupid people we know (men usually), and stupid people we don't know.
Temper. I'm not going to say anything about this one because I want to live for a little while longer.
Hmm...grouchy. Meg is ridiculous in a very cute way when she is grouchy. But the trick is, that Meg is quite an easy person to please. Key tips on dealing with a grouchy Meg are as follows: Leave her alone. Don't do or say anything stupid. Buy her a latte (or anything with coffee) or lip gloss or hot wings with blue cheese dip. Any of things will usually alleviate said grouchiness.
Debate? Argue? Favourite pastimes of Meg. Anything from poor call by a ref to non-profit organizations to punctuation. It's pretty engaging and entertaining and educational.
Things that piss Meg off. OOhh. This is a good one.
1) Spending money on stuff she doesn't want to, but has to Ex: taxes, service charges, bad coffee... 2) People who aren't polite. Hmm. I don't know if polite is the right word.. maybe people who aren't thankful for a nice deed or have a lack gratitude for people's gifts or people who don't appreciate others. 3) People who aren't kind. 4) People who are just plain old mean. 5) Disrespect 6) Men that are LAME 7) When she makes a bowl of homemade salsa for herself at camp and everyone else thinks that it must have been made for them. And they eat it, and then it's gone. 8) People who leave her hot rollers plugged in and forget. (Sorry...it was only that one time..I'll never do it again...I promise...) 9) People who don't do their job.
Wow...I could go on.
Okay, I was just kidding about the temper thing. I think Meg has a right to lose her temper more than she actually does. Meg's delightful mother said it exactly right when she pointed out that Meg has the ultimate patience, until she loses it. I haven't really witnessed the losing it very often. Only in times when Meg has been repeatedly hurt by someone or something and doesn't want to take it anymore. In which case, I'm very glad she loses it. It's kind of fun when she loses it at hockey though. Meg always has choice words for referees and fans alike, should their thoughts and/or calls be enough to evoke the temper.
All in all, you guys are pretty much right about Meg in that she is an AMAZING friend and anyone who is lucky enough to have her in their life, should consider themselves blessed. As I do.
See? See how nice my friends are? Could YOU be a jerk to these people?
