this space for rent.

No, no -- it's not really.

But that sounds about right for my head.

When things kinda... well... suck for you, what do you think of? What pushes you forward?

Would you want a worry-free life? Have you learned more from your victories or your mistakes?

Are you easily satisfied, or always pushing forward?

When other people are hurting around you, what is your standard response?

You can always tell I'm tired when all I want to do is ask questions. But I guess that's the only way to learn, right?

Anyhow. Regardless of all that, this picture still makes me stupidly happy:

11:51:07 PM    well, yes, but...  []

it's a dirty, dirty trick.

When I first awoke at 4 am this morning, I dragged my sneeze-wracked body out of bed to check the weather outside.

My goodness, did the air ever smell good (what of it I could make out beyond the apparent litres of mucous in my head.)

I breathed in cool soil, wet grass, fresh blossoms, a hint of the crisp, salty ocean, and the sweet, warm scent of the bakeries up the street, probably on their first hour of production for the day.

The birds were warbling to beat the band, and the soft drum of rain was splashing on the alley stones with a muted cadence.

The earth was softly, gently, but most definitely alive.

I smiled to myself at the loveliness of it all.

And then I remembered, "HOLY CRAP. IT'S 4 FREAKING AM IN THE MORNING."

I went back to sleep.
