Good: A glass of milk. Even Better: A glass of milk in the middle of the night, standing by the open fridge.
Good: Moving to a brand new place. Even Better: Moving out of this moth trap.
Good: Tidying up your email inbox at the end of the day. Even Better: Waking up to good emails in the morning.
Good: Updates on my grandpa from hospital. Even Better: Good updates, instead of sad ones.
Good: Puppies. Even Better: Sleepy puppies in a heap.
Good: Friends who ask how you feel. Even Better: Friends who don't ever need to ask.
Good: Cool water.
Even Better: Ice cold water from a shade-shielded backyard hose in the fiercest heat of summer.
Good: A sunset.
Even Better: A sunset over Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, cup of good, good coffee in your hand.
Good: Getting stuff done. Even Better: Getting stuff done ahead of time so you have five minutes to stare into precious space.
Good: A bowl of ice cream.
Even Better: Ben and Jerry's Vermonty Python Ice Cream from the carton.
Good: Latte money discovered at the bottom of a purse. Even Better: Money to buy a Bialetti Brikka found in your bank account.
Good: Smirking. Even Better: Being breathless with laughter.
Good: Noticing the full moon. Even Better: Noticing the full moon from the side of a lake, high above above the fire's glow.
Good: Daisies. Even Better: More daisies.
Good: Gray's Anatomy. Even Better: Gray's Anatomy without Gray. And much more Justin Chambers.
Good: Big windows. Even Better: Big windows full of periwinkle-blue sky.
Good: Getting the work done. Even Better: Finding an inspired idea along the way that changes the way work gets done forever.
Good: A date. Even Better: A date that lasts thirty years (with bathroom breaks.)
Good: Late-night blogging. Even Better: Late-night sleeping.
