Last Film Bought: The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Wes Anderson rocks!

Last Film Watched: Madagascar. Cute but not great. Chris Rock is completely wasted as a straight man. They should have let him cut loose. David Schwimmer, who I’m not particularly fond of, was hysterical as a neurotic giraffe and Sasha Cohen (Ali G) was great as the Lemur king.

Five Favorite Films That I Watch Frequently or That Mean A Lot To Me: If "The Princess Bride" is on I will watch it, even though I own it. I love this movie. Anything Monty Python I will watch over and over again. "Amelie" was great. "Wallace & Gromit" I will always watch. Anything by the Coen Brothers I will watch repeatedly.

Among my favorites otherwise: Best in Show, Waiting For Guffman, A Mightly Wind, This Is Spinal Tap, Dr. Strangelove (Kubrick’s best), Sideways, Crouching Tiger, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, The Commitments, Henry V, Kill Bill, Vol 1, Sin City, Lost In Translation, Snatch, the list goes on and on.

Miraculously, I want to see, and have not seen: Ray, In America, Robots, Kingdom of Heaven, Schultzie Gets The Blues, Layer Cake, The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.

Movie you would most like to see again if you could find it: "Mediterraneo", a great Italian film about a group of soldiers on a Greek island during WW2. A wonderful movie.

By the way, “Strickly Ballroom” is a fantastic movie.

Movieholic!

That's what I am, I don't just watch them, I buy them and I've got a lot. It's a disease really. This is my collection. I'd like to say that all of the kid movies are for when my niece and nephew come over or when anyone with kids visits but really I like those flicks too. The program I use is called DVD Profiler and it's pretty cool. You can download it for free at http://www.intervocative.com/ or get the full-featured version for $15 or so. It's worth it especially if you have as many as I do. I don't think I have too many embarrassing ones listed. The quantity is probably the most embarrassing thing.

This will be tough, half are from the 40’s to the early 50’s, half are 1980 to now. I also have a broad definition of Film Noir which includes most private eye flicks from the late 40's to early 50’s. I’ve thrown you a few bones in there. There may also be two quotes from the same movie.

FANTASTIC! If you didn't like "Pulp Fiction" or "Kill Bill" forget about "Sin City" but if those movies are your style this is a blast. I've read reviews about the violence and gore factor but since this is in black and white and uses interesting flashes of color it's more comic book violence than, say, "Gangs of New York" which was rough going in some points but still an excellent flick. I've seen episodes of CSI that caused more of a squeamish reflex. Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, and Bruce Willis are as good as ever. I've got two thumbs so TWO THUMBS UP!
